A murder investigation is underway in the Russian capital.
Former KGB spy Shabtai von Kalmanovic was killed when gunmen
opened fire on his car.
More than 20 shots were fired at his vehicle from another car
close to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's office.
Kalmanovic was a basketball tycoon and he was known for
organising concerts in Moscow for Michael Jacskon and Tom
Jones.
State media reports said he'd spent time in an Israeli prison
for giving away military information to the KGB.
He was released in 1993.
Russian police are treating his death as a contract killing.
During the early 90's there was a wave of contract style
killings in Russian cities.
The number of those styles of deaths have decreased in recent
years.
But they continue to plague the capital.
