Typhoon Mirinae tears through central Vietnam, flooding homes and disrupting traffic.

At least 16 people were killed as it slammed through six provinces. Many are still missing.

Phu Yen province was the worst hit.

Coffee growers have also been badly affected.

Vietnam is the world's second-largest coffee producer after Brazil.

But the typhoon has threatened the harvest, dumping rain on the central highlands.

Crew men on Chinese cargo ship Lucky Dragon were more fortunate.

12 were rescued after the vessel ran into problems and sank.

Mirinae had already caused havoc in the Philippines killing at least 19 people.

The national weather bureau predicts more rain in the next 24 hours.

Mirinae is now heading to Cambodia but it's weakened to a tropical storm.
